The EPMA Section in the Microscopy and Microanalysis Laboratory was installed and started to operate in 2015. The laboratory is equipped with a JEOL JXA-8230 microprobe, featuring 5 WDS spectrometers and 1 EDS detector.
The equipment performs quantitative microanalyses of minerals (silicates, sulfides, oxides, carbonates, phosphates, etc.), alloys, and soils, as well as in situ Th-U-Pb dating of monazites.
